We Are Timetheory [tmth001]

It's 2008, and the brainchild of Jon7.net Microlabel head honcho Jon 7 has come to life in the form of a new netlabel, Timetheory Recordings.

This introductory compilation, 'We Are Timetheory' showcases artists and tracks that will come to define the Timetheory sound and aesthetic. Artists who had come to be a major part of the Jon7.net sound art family comprise much of the current roster, and along the way new artists have been discovered and have chosen to be part of the Timetheory posse.The sound of Timetheory, as it develops, will strive to be an eclectic mixture of all things that have worked and sounded good in the past, having proved their mettle on Jon7.net Microlabel, and with the aim to continue to push the envelope sonically in as many ways possible.

In this compilation, a variety of sounds are displayed. Our appreciation of dark ambient sounds is revealed by tracks from Turmoil, Rose Red and Mystified. On the light side of ambient we have a fine track by Off Land, whose near classical style of ambient has garnered him some acclaim on the Kikapu netlabel. Our love of quirky melodic IDM is ably handled by fine tracks from Bath, Yoursck and subduxtion. The minimal house end is well managed by Impset and ∞ (infinity symbol), Jon 7 supplies a track of brain-damaged beat, and Rezkar, the stand-out star artist of the Jon7.net Microlabel, provides a closing track of playful melodic house, the style that has propelled him from closet musician to rising netlabel and vinyl wunderkind.

It has been a arduous labor of love to bring this netlabel to life, but now that it has become reality,we hope that you as listeners will come to enjoy and appreciate our sound, and that the daring and bold artists amongst the listening audience will join us in the goal of charting the new frontiers of music and sound.
